Lifetime Contribution Award – Judy Peterson – Teacher of the Arts

This annual award recognizes Orange County Educators who have added substance to our county’s educational system. Judy Peterson more than meets that criteria by pioneering the way for our teachers to develop innovative ideas and experiences to bring meaning and appreciation of the arts to their students.
What is amazing about Judy is not only her enthusiasm, but her recollections of events when Art and Music were not priorities in the county. She certainly changed that by working with school principals and teachers sharing her love for and the importance of both disciplines. She still brings life to the programs that add incredible richness to our daily lives. We are lucky to have people like Judy guiding and managing such endeavors. Even after retiring in 2008, she hasn’t stopped. She’s an active part of most of our county’s continuing Art and Music programs, many of which she started.
