Every year, the Orange County (Virginia) Education Foundation (OCEF) honors both an outstanding OC teacher and local supporter of education in our County. This year, we are honoring Sharon Mohrmann, an OC teacher for 42 years! She has won numerous awards and recognition for her outstanding achievements in education both by our county and “Commonwealth!” She is most proud of having organized and directed an annual musical production for our 5th grade students at Orange Elementary! Now that’s an achievement!
This year, we are also recognizing, as a Special Friend of Education, the Lake of the Woods Lion’s Club! That outstanding organization has not only awarded sizable college scholarships and Teacher Innovation Grants, but has helped cancel student loan debt, conducted vision and hearing screenings, paid for licensure and mentor programs for new teachers, and provides outerwear for students. We hope you will join us to recognize these achievements!
Now for logistics. The world renowned BBQ Exchange from Gordonsville, Virginia will be catering our event, including handhelds and other great food! Profits from this event will be dedicated to the OCEF’s Teacher Innovation Grant program that will begin in October! Teachers apply and grants are awarded for projects beginning next year. At this year’s celebration will be examples of grants we made on 2023.
There are a number of options for a tax deductible payment. First, we have 4 “levels”, including the number of meal tickets per donation, plus individual meal tickets.
- Patron at $1,000. Includes 4 meal tickets.
- Benefactor at $500. Includes 3 meal tickets
- Supporter at $250. Includes 2 meal tickets
- Friend at $100. Includes 1 meal ticket
Individual meal tickets are priced at $45.00.
Please RSVP by September 10, 2024 so we can include your name and organization in our program.
Payments can be made by mailing your contribution to: OCEF, PO Box 131, Orange, Virginia 22960.
Another option is to go directly to the 2024 Celebration at our professionally managed and secure site at the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation (CACF.) The CACF is one of the largest regional foundations in Virginia. As a result, we list all of our OCEF accounts, including the 2024 Celebration, to insure payments are handed with complete security and privacy.
