Master Sergeant George A. Bannar, Jr. Scholarship
Criteria: Preference given to a graduating cadet of the Orange County JROTC program that holds a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and intends to pursue a degree from a four-year institution, community college or trade school. Financial needs will be considered. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees.
Amount: $1,000
The Master Sergeant George A. Bannar, Jr. Scholarship is given in memory of an Orange County native who served his country honorably in the United States Army Special Forces. Master Sergeant Bannar died in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan during his fifth tour of duty. This scholarship in the amount of $1,000 is awarded to a senior member of the Orange County High School Army JROTC program who plans to attend a four year college, community college or trade school.
