  • Orange County Education Foundation Scholarship Winners
    Since 1994, the Orange County Education Foundation has awarded $3,150,268 in Scholarships and Grants.

The Orange County Education Foundation maintains a student scholarship program in order to provide resources, inspire innovation and enhance opportunities for graduates of Orange County High School. The program consists of multiple funds from which scholarships are awarded to support our graduates’ pursuit of post-secondary degrees and/or professional certifications.

Barbara Bannar Memorial Scholarship

  • $5000.00 Awarded to a student seeking a degree in business at a four-year institution, community college or trade school, with special emphasis placed on students who have or intend to start a business.
  • $20,000 awarded to CTE Programs
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Henry Lee and Judy Carter Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded to student seeking alternative education opportunities along with student seeking traditional four your degree.
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee.

Davis and Barbara Francis Fund

  • High school senior undertaking a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM). Amount: $1,500
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Patricia Francis Nursing Scholarship

  • Nursing student who has the need and works hard. $500
  • Chosen by donors with assistance of high school scholarship committee

Gordonsville Auxiliary – Fire/EMT Scholarship

  • Orange County High School Senior who has a 2.5 GPA or better and is going into the field of Fire Fighter or EMT, either at a university, community college or trade school. $250
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Taylor and Phyllis Grasty Medical Scholarship

  • (1) Graduate of Orange County High School; (2) pursuing a professional education, in order to become either a nurse, a medical doctor, a veterinarian, or a dentist; (3) enrolled at a medical, nursing, veterinary, or dentist program in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

John Hawse Memorial Scholarship

  • Available to one student; attending a four year university to study a science-related field; based solely on academic merit and for recognition of excellence in science. $1,000
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Licata Group Real Estate Team Scholarship

  • OCHS senior planning to attend Germanna Community College and major in Applied Science Associate degree or certificate. Preferewnce given to students with a 34.0 Grade Point Average or higher; financial need is not a consideration. The scholarship is for tuition and fees. 2 students @ $1,250 each
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee with involvement from Pat Licata.

Orange County Chamber of Commerce

  • The Orange County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship fund serves to financially support a student pursuing the following career goals: a vocational or technical trade OR Entrepreneurial aspirations OR Pursuing a profession in a service-oriented field (nursing, law enforcement, etc.)
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Orange County Education Foundation General- Scholarship Fund

  • Current application criteria are determined at the discretion of the Orange County High School scholarship selection committee with an emphasis placed on providing for needs not described in other scholarships. $5,000
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Orange County Rescue Squad

  • This is a new scholarship for the 2021-22 school year. More information on this scholarship will be posted when it becomes available.

Ann Mason Head Start Scholarship

  • Student who is a former student of the Head Start program and has attended OCPS for all of K-12. The student should be seeking a degree from a four-year institution, community college or trade school. Preference is given to students from Mrs. Mason’s Head Start class. $1,000
  • Chosen by donor with assistance from OCHS and Head Start staff

Master Sergeant George A. Bannar, Jr. Scholarship

  • Preference given to a graduating cadet of the Orange County JROTC program that holds a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and intends to pursue a degree from a four-year institution, community college or trade school. Financial needs will be considered. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees. $1,000
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Nora Pannill Brooking Scholarship

  • Financial need, attending community college, trade school, nursing school, business school, or another trade focused program. $2,000
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Lorraine Ryan Memorial Scholarship

  • OCHS student who is planning a career in journalism, creative writing, or English and has excelled in these areas throughout high school. $1,000
  • Chosen by by the OCEF Scholarship Committee, OCHS English Department, and the family of Lorraine Ryan

Cleo P. Short Memorial Scholarship

  • OCHS Senior who plans to attend a college or university. Must hold a minimum 3.6 GPA and demonstrated exemplary character throughout his or her high school experience. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees. $1,000
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Joseph Stanley Memorial Soccer Scholarship Fund

  • Separate application; Stanley family chooses recipient. $5,000
  • Selection by family in memory of Joe Stanley; given to a member of the soccer team

Town of Orange Scholarship

  • Student who is a resident of the Town of Orange attending a two or four-year college. $1,000 for 4 years
  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee

Lindsay C. Woolfolk Jr. Memorial Scholarship

  • OCHS Senior who plans to attend a 4-year college or university for the purpose of entering the teaching profession. Must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to applicants with a combination of financial need, high academic achievement, and participation in OCHS athletics.. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees. $500
  • Selection by family via separate application provided to OCHS

Jane Gwyn Robertson Zimmermann Scholarship

  • (1) Must be enrolled and fully accepted as a full-time student at an institution of higher learning;
  • (2) must graduate from OCHS with no grade below a “B” in any subject during his/her senior year;
  • (3) must be members of the OCHS chapter of Future Teachers of America or its successor organization, and if no such organization exists then the requirement is waived; (4) preference is to be given to students who (a) express a sincere desire to pursue a career in public school teaching, and (b) are in need of scholarship assistance based on the income levels of themselves and their families.
  • $3,500

  • Chosen by high school scholarship committee with involvement from family.
